Sample Answer

Throughout my life, I have the chance to meet countless excellent problem solvers; however, if I had to talk about one today, it would have to be my mother.

To be honest, my mother has always had great problem-thinking skills. She is insightful and she sometimes comes up with creative answers to difficulties in a matter of seconds. I think she has a great critical thinking skill and she is capable of considering things from different perspectives, which often results in solutions to whatever challenges she may encounter.

About 2 years ago, when the pandemic first found its way in Vietnam, a vast majority of businesses and factories were locked down and my mother business was not an exception. In fact, it was falling, and we were on the verge of becoming bankrupt because our annual revenue was close to zero. At that time, we desperately needed a line of credit from a bank to keep the ball rolling on our business.

So my mother eventually decided to sell one of the factories she owned to the bank. It was a risky move, but surprisingly it worked out in the end. Although the money from selling one of the factories was not hefty, it helped to pay for the debt and other expenses. Therefore, my mum successfully moved her business out of the red and into the black after concentrating on a single factory instead of two. This had to be one of the most challenging problems my mum faced since the founding of her business, and my mum’s pragmatic solution worked perfectly.

As you can imagine, my mum has been a great inspiration to me, she is a successful and creative businesswoman and she has been my perennial role model. In my opinion, it is extremely critical that people give their best shot to follow the most logical steps toward solving any issue that arises. We should not make rash decisions based on the first thing that comes to mind; instead, we should all be more decisive like my mother.
