IELTS Speaking Part 1 : Talk about your daily routine

Talk about your daily routine is one of the common and familiar topics in IELTS Speaking. Therefore, candidates should be well equipped with this topic of knowledge to be able to confidently answer the questions posed by the examiner.

What is the busiest part of the day for you?

Answer:
As I am an early riser so I frequently wake up at 4 am to feel more energetic. Thanks to it, I can complete many activities within quite a short time. Believe it or not, in just roughly 2 hours, I can go to the bathroom, head to the gym, prepare for my breakfast, listen to podcasts and the list goes on and on …

What part of your day do you like best?

Answer:
Hands down it’s the evening. After a hard day at work with a stuffed calendar of a 9-5ver like me, I would say the time after work is extremely precious for me to recharge my batteries and reflect my day as well.

Do you usually have the same routine every day?

Answer:
Certainly. To be perfectly honest, I am a real creature of habit as I strongly believe repeating good same habits and activities on a daily basis is the best way to success. Of course there are some ad hoc problems sometimes, but I quickly get back to my normal schedule once I get things done.

What is your daily routine?

Answer:
As I said earlier, I’m an early raiser and I get up at the crack of dawn every day to complete all of my morning activity list. After that, I work until 5 pm and teach English classes from 6:30pm-9:30pm. I call it a day around 10pm and repeat the circle at 4am the day after.

Have you ever changed your routine?

Answer:
Life is full of unexpected things so when hardship comes, it tends to affect my daily practices. For example, I got Covid about 1 month ago and suffered from insomnia for about a week. It goes without saying that I failed to maintain my 4am-10pm sleep span during that time and had had to go with the flow until I was fully recovered.

Do you think it is important to have a daily routine?

Answer:
It is indeed of paramount importance. A great daily routine will help you a ton in deciding what to do to start your day and what should be the next moves. Without a good daily routine, you are likely to end up being clueless of what to go first in the morning and that will kill your overall productivity.

What would you like to change in your daily routine?

Answer:
To be upfront, I’m quite pleased with my own daily schedule now as I have been making constant improvements on that list to make the most of my day. However, as greedy as it sounds, I wish I had more than 24 hours per day to learn and develop myself even more.
