Sample Answer

Now I’m gonna talk about dancing which is an activity that I’m into doing in my spare time. If I’m not mistaken, I started dancing when I was in primary school, so it’s been a long time you know. At that time, there was a dancing class organized by volunteer foreign teachers in my town, so I wanted to partake in the class just for fun.

At first, I was confused and didn’t know how to pose the right gestures, which made me feel a bit embarrassed. Fortunately, with the help of supportive, passionate teachers, I got used to the techniques and mastered the basic lesson after 3 months. I have to admit that they were some of the most patient teachers I’ve ever met and they made me become more confident in myself

You know, I felt so motivated every time I joined the class. Not only could I make new friends who share the same interests, but dancing also helps me get lean and stay in a good shape in terms of physical benefits. Even though my friends and I live far away from each other, we’ve still stayed in touch and spent quality time with each other on special occasions, such as New Year holidays or Christmas parties. Some of them still continue this hobby on a regular basis.

As for mental benefits, dancing helps improve our mental-wellbeing. This is because when we dance, we need to be conscious of our body movements and control our mind. It also helps us relieve stress, find inner peace and decrease risks of several disorders such as sleep deprivation, autism and backache. So with its long-term positive impacts, I think dancing is a good hobby that everyone should have in their free time.
