II. Answers
1. What kind of weather do you like most?
Many people will choose sunny days, but in the north of Vietnam, where I am from, the heat waves in the summer can be extreme. In fact, a lot of people suffer from heatstroke because of that. Therefore, I prefer the winter months more, as long as it’s not freezing cold and there are some sunny spells.
2. What is the weather like in your hometown?
To describe the weather in Hanoi, I have only 1 word – unpredictable. Just imagine having a clear blue sky and all of a sudden, there is torrential rain! And you know, getting caught in the rain is not a nice feeling so I always check the weather forecast and bring my rain jacket when I go outside.
Of course the weather is not always like that but it’s my biggest impression of Hanoi.
3. Is there any difference in the weather in different parts of Vietnam?
Definitely yes. Living in the north of Vietnam, you can experience 4 seasons in a year, which are spring, summer, fall, and winter. However, the southern part only has two seasons, which are the dry and rainy seasons, and the temperature tends to remain high throughout the year.
Meanwhile, the middle part of Vietnam often has tropical storms and flash floods. Besides, the weather patterns are more changeable now due to climate change.
4. Do you prefer dry or wet weather?
I definitely lean towards dry weather. I mean, it’s just easier to plan your day when you don’t have to lug around an umbrella. Plus, sunny days always boost my mood – everything feels more doable, you know?
5. What’s your favourite season?
Summer has got to be my favourite season. There’s just so much you can do – beach trips, ice creams, late sunsets. It feels like everyone’s in a better mood and up for hanging out.
