Line Graph #29 – The percentage of people who went to cinema in one European country

Task 01: Line graph

The chart below shows the percentage of people of different age groups who went to cinema once a month or more in one European country from 2000 to 2011.

Model Answer 1:

The bar chart illustrates changes in the percentage of people going to the cinema once a month by age group in a European country between 2000 and 2011.

Overall, the percentage of people visiting the cinema once a month was highest amongst those aged 15 to 24 years-old, and lowest amongst those aged 35 and over. Additionally, the figures for all age groups increased over the given period.

In 2000, 15% of people aged 15 to 24 years-old visited the cinema once a month. This figure tripled over the following five and a half years, and continued to rise to over 50% by 2011. Meanwhile, only approximately 3% of people aged 35 and over visited the cinema at least once a month. This figure also gradually rose over the years to reach approximately 13% in 2011.

Very similar trends could be seen for those aged 7-14 and 2535. Beginning at approximately 10% and 5% respectively both figures continued to rise over the measured period to both reach 30% by 2011.
