One time I helped someone was when I assisted my classmate, Minh, who was struggling with preparing for our final English exam. He had missed a few weeks of class due to illness and was falling behind.
I noticed he was very quiet and looked stressed, so I offered to help him review the material. Every afternoon for about a week, we studied together in the library. I explained the grammar rules, practiced speaking with him, and gave him tips on how to improve his writing.
The main reason I helped him was because I knew how hard it is to catch up after missing classes, and I didn’t want him to fail. We had been friends since primary school, so it felt natural to support him.
After the exam, he told me he had passed and thanked me sincerely. That moment made me feel incredibly proud and happy. Helping someone not only strengthened our friendship, but also gave me a sense of purpose.
