I’ve been living in Hanoi for more than 6 years and I’ve already fallen in love with this vibrant city. It has pretty nice weather, a rich culture, wonderful cuisine and an almost perfect combination of old and new, slightly influenced by the Western culture. That’s why I always want to settle down here and have a flat right in the heart of the city. The best location for me is in the Old Quarter. Perhaps I don’t even need to describe the rustic and charming beauty of this place anymore since it has long become a cultural symbol of Hanoi. 

As for the house itself…well personally I’d prefer to live in a flat of a luxurious apartment building. Unlike many others, I’m not really into the idea of living in a penthouse apartment. But I’d like my flat to be pretty high, maybe from the 8th floor to 15th floor because I want to stay away from all sorts of nasty things like insects, mice or cockroaches. Also, a large, airy balcony and big windows will be a must. I want my house to be full of natural light, and adequately ventilated. 

I haven’t thought about which color I would paint the flat. My favorite color is green, but I’m considering which particular shade of green will be the best option. Of course, the flat must be well-equipped with modern appliances, things like a double-door fridge, an interactive TV or an air purifier. It will also be nice if I can have smartly designed equipment or furniture like folding tables or collapsible bookshelves.

The most important thing in my perfect house, however, is a room totally dedicated for video games and music. In this room, there will be a powerful gaming computer set with top-notch gears, posters of my favorite games on the wall and at least 3 to 4 musical instruments.

I know it’s not easy to have such a perfect house, but I’ll try my best to make every piece of my dream come true. And hopefully I’ll be able to share this dream world with my significant other, because you know, nothing is scarier than loneliness.
