Describe an important thing you learned
You should say:
– When did you learn it?
– How did you learn it?
– Why did you think it was important to learn it?
– And how did you feel when you learned it?
Sample band 7.5:
Since I have learned a lot about making presentations from my teacher, I will use that skill to offer my thoughts on the topic at hand. He was a great teacher since he always made me feel secure and gave me sound advice.
About a year ago, I decided to take courses at TalkFirst, an English language center, in order to improve my ability to deliver in English. While I was in high school, my English teacher, Mr. Huy, gave my classmates and me several opportunities to make presentations in front of an audience. Mr. Huy is a masterful orator and light years ahead of his peers when it comes to coaching others on how to deliver a powerful public speaker. For the first time ever, I had to give a presentation in front of a group of my classmates, and I was terrified. Because of this, I struggled greatly while presenting in front of an audience, and I made many embarrassing blunders. I had a hard time figuring out how to convey my thoughts and feelings to my peers at the outset. Nevertheless, I overcame the obstacles and learned from my mistakes, and from then on, things became easier for me.
Both students and teachers are expected to regularly showcase their research and teaching methods to the public as a means of demonstrating their expertise in their respective fields. For this reason, I believe it is essential to feel comfortable delivering speeches in front of an audience. As a result, students could improve their public speaking skills by watching videos on YouTube or visiting learning centers.
