IELTS Speaking Part 1 : Topic movie
1. Do you like to watch films?
Yes, I am a movie buff. There’s something magical about getting lost in a good movie, whether it’s an action flick or a heartwarming romance. I enjoy the thrill of going through a rollercoaster of emotions, from joy and laughter to tears and heartbreak.
2. What was the first film that you watched?
Well, I think the first film that I watched was the classic animated film called The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid is a beloved Disney classic that tells the story of Ariel, a curious and adventurous mermaid who dreams of exploring the world above the sea. I watched The Little Mermaid for the first time when I was around 6 years old, and it quickly became one of my favorite movies. I still remember how enchanted I was by the colorful underwater world of mermaids, fish, and other sea creatures, as well as the beautiful music and memorable characters.
3. Do people in your country like to go to a cinema to watch a film?
Going to the cinema is popular in many countries. People enjoy watching movies on the big screen with friends or family, especially new releases or blockbusters. Streaming platforms have become increasingly popular, and some prefer to watch films at home for convenience or cost-effectiveness. The COVID-19 pandemic also prompted many cinemas to close temporarily, leading to a shift towards online streaming.
4. Would you like to be in a movie?
I have mixed feelings, to be honest. I can say that being in a movie can be a thrilling and exciting experience for some people. It can offer a unique opportunity to showcase our talents, skills, and creativity, as well as to work with other talented individuals in the film industry. On the other hand, it can also be a challenging and demanding job that requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
5. What kinds of movies do you like best?
There are many different types of movies, each with its own unique appeal to different audiences. However, I prefer action movies that are full of high-speed chases and intense fight scenes. Sometimes, I also love watching documentaries that provide insight into real-world issues or biographical dramas that explore the lives of historical figures.
6. Do you like to watch movies alone or with your friends?
I think I enjoy a mix of both, depending on my mood and the type of movie they want to watch. Sometimes I just want to enjoy the peace and quiet of watching movies alone, allowing me to fully immerse themselves in the story without any distractions. However, I also find watching movies with friends to be a fun and social activity, allowing us to bond over a shared interest and discuss the movie afterward.
7. What was the best movie you watched?
I think it’s Interstellar, released in 2014. The movie has a great storyline. When Earth becomes uninhabitable in the future, a farmer and ex-NASA pilot, Joseph Cooper, is tasked to pilot a spacecraft, along with a team of researchers, to find a new planet for humans. It’s the best movie to me since it’s well-regarded for its compelling stories and character development, stunning visual effects and cinematography.
8. Do you prefer foreign films or films made in your country?
I love both types of films. Foreign films can provide a window into different cultures and perspectives, while films made in my own country can offer a sense of familiarity and connection to their own culture. While I appreciate the opportunity to discover new filmmakers, actors, and stories from around the world, I also want to support my local film industry.
9. How often do you go to a cinema to watch a movie?
I go to the cinema several times a month to catch the latest releases. I think the cinema has a great ambience. I mean, in a cinema, as the audience is huge, some moviegoers respond quicker and laugh instantly upon discovering entertaining dialog. When I hear the initial fraction of a giggling noise, in one nanosecond, I’ll infiltrate into a further joyous spirit and giggle too.
