The table provides data on students in six departments at an Australian university in 2009, categorized by the percentage of females, students whose first language was not English, and those born outside Australia.

Overall, the English and Modern Languages departments had the highest proportions of female students, while Physics and Chemistry had the lowest. Modern Languages had the most international influence, with the largest percentages of students born outside Australia and those whose first language was not English.

In terms of gender, the English department had the highest percentage of female students (67%), closely followed by Modern Languages (63%). Conversely, Chemistry had the lowest proportion of females at just 29%, with Physics slightly higher at 37%.

When it comes to students whose first language was not English, Modern Languages had the highest percentage (41%), while History recorded the lowest (10%). Similarly, Modern Languages also topped the chart for students born outside Australia (54%), whereas History had the least at 18%.
