The flow chart depicts the recycling of waste paper. Overall, this process involves six distinct stages, beginning with the collection of waste paper and ending with the production of usable paper.
Waste paper is collected at the initial stage of the paper recycling process, either from paper banks where members of the public deposit their used paper or directly from businesses. This paper is then manually sorted and graded, with any paper that is inappropriate for recycling being removed. Once the classification stage finishes, the graded paper is then transported to a paper mill to be ready for the next steps.
Cleaning is required in stages four and five of the process. In this stage, foreign objects such as staples are got rid of from the paper after it has been cleaned and pulped. At the de-inking stage, all remnants of ink and glue are removed from the paper. At the final stage, paper is put into a machine, and then new paper is finally produced and is ready to be used again.
