Describe someone you really like to spend time with (Part 2/3)

IELTS Speaking Part 2

Describe someone you really like to spend time with.

You should say:
– Who this person is?
– How do you know him/her?
– What do you usually do together?
– And explain why you like to spend time with him/her?

Sample Band 7.5

Today I would like to tell you about a person I would like to spend my time with.

It is my boyfriend Louis, who is tall and cute in his spectacles. About the time we first saw each other, it was through a social networking platform where I came across his personal page. I actually was impressed by his cute smile and his passion for sports, especially rope skipping. After breaking the ice by texting, we decided to meet up in person. I invited him to come over for a late-night drink in my house and he agreed. Needless to say, I was so excited about that. We had a great night chatting and laughing because we in fact have plenty of common interests. The next morning, we found out that we were so well matched that we ended up updating each other.

Whenever we meet, we will hang out around the city center or chit-chat in a small restaurant with beer and side dishes. Besides, we also sometimes go shopping for clothes and watch some films in the cinema. To me, it is a great time to be with him as he always makes me happy.

There are several reasons why I like being with him. First, he works in a pharmacy, so thanks to him I have learned quite a lot of knowledge about medicines and supplements. Second, besides medicine, he is pretty clever in communication and marketing skills which are pretty interesting to know as secondary skills too. Third, we both share the same hobby of reading books. Therefore we never get bored with each other.

That is all I would like to say. Thank you for your listening.

IELTS Speaking Part 3

2.1. How many generations usually live together in your country?

In my country, we often have a maximum of 3 generations living together in the same house. However, I think 2 is better because parent-child conflicts are already stressful. If it also involves grandparents, I’m afraid a house won’t be a peaceful place to go back to.

2.2. Is it important to visit family members?

Yes, it is important if family members have good emotional connections with each other. If they can’t see eye to eye at some points, visiting will be a little troublesome.

2.3. What are the values of family in your country?

The majority of us think that family is pretty important as it is the decisive factor for personality growth and personal success. Family is already there when we are born so family members, especially parents, are those who directly affect our bring up as well as our whole-life personality. Without family, one can suffer and struggle quite a lot in life.

2.4. Why is family bonding necessary for happiness in life?

Some people may think so but I don’t. Family bond can sometimes cause burden and stress and is not the main factor to decide happiness. I truly believe that having no family connections is like any other adverses an individual can cope with in his life which does not kill us but only makes us stronger.
