Talk About Your Hometown (Part 1 & 2)

Talk about your hometown – Part 1

Let’s talk about your hometown. Where is your hometown?

Well, my hometown is Da Nang city, which is on the central coast of Vietnam. In my opinion, it is an ideal city to live in thanks to its unique culinary culture with beautiful natural landscapes.

What do you like most about your hometown?

To be honest, I would say I like everything. But what I like the most maybe its privilege in natural landscapes. I mean my city is well-known for having incredible sceneries everywhere from the fine sandy beaches to the east to green chilling forests to the west.

What do you not like about it?

Frankly speaking, I dislike the slow pace of life in my city. For a young, dynamic, active person like me, my hometown is not an ideal place for me to expand my horizons or find a better job opportunity. That’s why I moved to Ho Chi Minh city for work. However, I still think Da Nang is a perfect place for vacationers who would only stay for a few days.

Would you prefer to live somewhere else? (Why)?

I would say no if I was about to retire from work as my city is a pretty peaceful and quiet place. It is suitable for those who seek an easy and carefree lifestyle.

Talk about your hometown –  Part 2

Talk about your hometown.

You should say:

  • Where it is?
  • What is special about it?
  • What tourists should do there?
  • And explain whether it is an ideal place to live in or not?

Sample Answer:

Ok so let me tell you about the city where I was born and raised.

It is Da Nang city which is on the central coast and is one of the three biggest cities of Vietnam.

When you come here, you will be amazed by the beautiful natural landscapes and the friendliness of our people. My city is well-known for being favored by nature. We have the green mountains surrounding the city in the west and a long fine-sand beach in the east, which offer tourists plenty of choices to see and to enjoy here. Besides, I believe that the cuisine will never let them down. There are plenty of delicacies that tourists can try like Hue noodle soup, Quang style noodles, fresh spring rolls with pork and salad, etc.

Tourists who come to visit my city can hop on public buses for a city tour or even hire a motorbike and drive to some further destinations like the Hai Van pass, one of the greatest natural wonders according to Da Nang people.

My city is actually a perfect option for those who would like to settle down because real estate is kind of affordable at the moment. Moreover, the cost of living is relatively lower compared to Ho Chi Minh city or Hanoi city. Last but not least, the locals are friendly and helpful who will never hesitate to support the newcomers.

So that’s all I would like to say about my hometown. Thank you for your attention
