Writing Task 1 (Maps): The maps show a road system as it is now and the propesed changes in future to reduce the number of accidents

Task 01: Map

The maps show a road system as it is now and the propesed changes in future to reduce the number of accidents.

Sample Answer 1:

The maps provide information about a current road system and proposed changes to increase the safety of its users.

Overall, the main changes being proposed include a major roundabout , the installation of several sets of traffic lights, and some restructuring of existing roadways.

The intersection of City Road and Low Lane is one of the four areas where frequent accidents occur in the area and is proposed to have a set of traffic lights installed to minimise such occurrences. The intersection of City Road and Forest Road is also another accident prone area and is the site of a proposed roundabout.

Other accident prone areas are at the supermarket access road on City Road, and at the intersection of Low Lane and Forest Road. The supermarket access is planned to be moved to be a part of the roundabout, while Low Lane will be straightened in order to avoid accidents there.

Sample Answer 2:

The maps provide a number of suggested changes to the existing road system to enhance the safety of roads.

Overall, the primary proposed changes are the construction of a major roundabout, the installation of sets of traffic lights and the restructuring of current roads.

The intersection of Forest Road and City Road is an accident-prone area,  so there is a suggestion to erect a roundabout at this site to control the traffic. As accidents frequently take place at the junction of City Road and Low Lane, a set of traffic lights are planned to be installed to avoid accidents.

Other accident hotspots are at the supermarket access on the City Road and the intersection of Low Land and Forest Road. According to the plan, the supermarket access will be moved to be a part of the roundabout, while Low Lane will be straightened to minimize the likelihood of traffic incidents.
